Meet our Directors & Staff

Mr. Tyler Umpleby

Director of Bands and Orchestra

Mr. Umpleby has been a Director of Bands and Orchestras at Green Hill High School since the fall of 2020. Since starting at Green Hill Mr. Umpleby has taught band and orchestra as well as music theory and composition. Mr. Umpleby has overseen the Green Hill Indoor Programs and a variety of Chamber Ensembles in addition to Symphonic Band, Chamber and Beginning Orchestra, and the theory classes. He has also been involved in the theater department, acting as Technical Director for the past four years, and Music Directing for numerous productions. 

Mr. Umpleby has been passionate about music since a very young age. He remembers playing on his grandma's antique player piano before he knew anything about music. After joining band the summer of fifth grade he knew he wanted to teach music. He took every musical opportunity provided to him throughout middle school, high school, and college. Performing in concert bands, jazz bands, marching band, chamber ensembles, pep band, pit orchestras, choir, show choir, musical theater, and more.

During the course of his career, Mr. Umpleby has taught Preschool all the way through high school. After receiving his degree and licensure in PreK-12 Instrumental Music Education in Middle Tennessee at Trevecca University, he returned to Indiana for several years and taught elementary music and beginning band in Central Indiana and 5th through 12th grade band, general music, and orchestra in Southern Indiana. He is a trumpet player primarily, but loves to play horn and trombone depending on the setting! 

Outside of music, he enjoys cooking, watching movies, documentaries, and reading. He has recently fallen in love with soccer, and enjoys supporting the Nashville Soccer Club. This past summer he purchased a Jeep and has thoroughly enjoyed long drives through Middle Tennessee in it.

Mr. Keaton Weber

Associate Director of Bands

Mr. Weber is in his first year as the Associate Director of Bands at Green Hill High School. He teaches Symphonic Band and Beginning Band as well as percussion and piano class. Alongside Mr. Umpleby, Mr. Weber co-directs the Spirit of Green Hill Marching Band, oversees the indoor programs, and leads the school’s Jazz Band.

Mr. Weber is primarily a percussionist and studied Instrumental Music Education at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He was a part of the Indiana University Drumline for 4 years and served as center snare for his final 2 seasons. Additionally, Mr. Weber was a member of the percussion section and principal timpanist of the Indiana University Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Rodney Dorsey. He also studied steel pan and Afro-Cuban percussion. Beyond the percussive world, Mr. Weber is very passionate about singing and musical theatre. He participated in theatre through high school and summers in college as a cast member, music director, and professional pit orchestra musician. He has 2 songs released on all streaming platforms, too!

Mr. Weber is originally from Morton, Illinois and most recently taught in the Indianapolis area. He is engaged to his fiancee, Kiersen, and they have 2 cats named Pearl and Chowder. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys spending time with them, golfing, and being a devout Chicago Blackhawks fan.


Ms. Nina Chamberlin

Percussion Staff

Nina Chamberlin is a Chicago area native, now residing in Nashville, TN. She began her WGI career marching two seasons with Pioneer Indoor (2014-2015) and Gateway Indoor (2016). She performed with Music City Mystique from 2017-2022, and joined the front ensemble staff in 2023. Nina performed with Legends Drum and Bugle Corps from 2014-2018, and joined the front ensemble staff in 2019. She has served on the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps front ensemble staff since 2021.


Nina graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in K-12 Music Education. She currently teaches K-5 Music at Lakeview Elementary, in Mt. Juliet, TN.

Ms. Delilah Lee

Guard Staff

Ms. Dee is a Nashville Native and MNPS alumnus from John Overton High School, and WKU Alumni as well. Ms. Dee has worked with various programs, to name a few; John Overton, Columbia Central, Father Ryan, Beech high, Hillsboro High, and WKU. Not only is Ms. Dee a great educator within the sport of the arts, she is a phenomenal performer. She marched with John Overton for four years (15’-18’), The Mark Winterguard (2016), Eklipse (2020), and Eklipse World Guard (2023). Ms. Dee is always excited to teach the art form of colorguard and share her passion with fellow aspiring performers! 


Outside of color guard Ms.Dee enjoys baking many pastries and sweet treats, hiking, a big fan of gymnastics, figure skating, and classical ballet. GO HAWKS!

Ms. Fran Shepherd

Guard Staff

Fran has been involved in the Performing Arts for over 12 years as both a performer and educator. Her performance experience focuses on dance and flag, with experience marching with the Nashville based Music City Drum Corps. Originally from Statesville, North Carolina, Shepherd relocated to Nashville in 2016, where she continues to pursue her passion for creativity and education. She finds immense joy in helping others grow, especially watching individuals progress from mastering the basics to exceeding even her own skill level.

Shepherd is a versatile artist and designer with a remarkable talent for creativity and detail. Her work includes graphic design and crafting intricate props, reflecting her artistic vision and ingenuity. In addition to her professional endeavors, she explores a wide range of hobbies, including LARPing, Dungeons & Dragons, costuming, crocheting, knitting, drawing, and playing video games. These passions inspire her storytelling and shape her inventive contributions to the performing arts, demonstrating a remarkable fusion of creativity and innovation.

Outside of working as an instructor and choreographer, Fran works in the Exceptional Education classroom as a paraprofessional at Donelson Middle School.

Mr. Kylian Andrew

Winds Staff

Kylian Andrew is from Morristown, TN, and now resides in Lebanon. He was introduced to band and the saxophone in elementary school and has been playing for 17 years now.

Kylian first marched with the Morristown Hamblen High School East marching band. After that, he marched two seasons with the Golden Eagle Marching Band at Tennessee Tech University. He also received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree at Tech where his major was Saxophone Performance.

Kylian is currently the Saxophone Tech and one of the On-Field Staff for Green Hill. He is in his 3rd season with the Spirit of Green Hill.
